Okay, you have the perfect video marketing piece. You shot it yourself, and it looks great! It is expertly edited, with some fancy text and graphics, and you uploaded it onto Youtube. Now the traffic should come pouring in, right? WRONG! The work has just begun. Don't get me wrong, your video is going to get you traffic, but there are some things you need to do first. If you want to get optimum traffic to your site with your video, you need to do the following...
1. GET IT OUT THERE (EVEN MORE THAN YOU HAVE)
Youtube, although the world's largest video sharing website, is not the ONLY video sharing site out there. There are over 50 video sharing sites for you to upload your video to. A few of these sites include, AniBOOM, AtomUploads, BGVIP.TV, Blinkx, Blip.TV, Break.com, Buzznet, Crackle, DailyMotion, EngageMedia, FaceBook, Famecast, Flickr, Gawkk, GodTube, GoFish, Google Video, iFilm, imeem, JibJab, Kewego, LiveLeak, Metacafe, MSN Soapbox, Myspace, My Video, Pandora TV, Reeltime.com, Truveo, Veoh, Vimeo, Vuze, and Yahoo! Video.
2. PUBLICIZE
Just because you have made the jump into video marketing, doesn't mean you should quit writing articles. This is as good a time as any to write! For example, if you are promoting solar panels, and you have videos promoting solar panels, you should be writing your articles and linking not only to your site, but to your video. The thicker your "web" of links is, the more views you are going to get. Squidoo also allows you to build a lens about your product and link to your video and site. Video marketing get more and more effective as you grow your web. Along with articles and Squidoo, post links to your video in social networking sites like Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, and others. Believe me, this sounds like a lot of work, but you will see results quicker if you publicize as much as you can.
3. ITS ALL IN THE DESCRIPTION
The description of your videos could be the single most important feature of your video. You have 1-2 sentences to win over your viewers. Make sure you place your site address first, follow it with your sales line: "Hate Paying Electricity Bills? Solar Panels Are For You!" It lets the viewer know what the gist of the video is going to be. It also teases them into clicking your link.
4. DO IT ALL OVER
Having a video marketing campaign is great isn't it? If you want maximum traffic, you should repeat your steps. Create another video and do the same with it, but this time, link it to your older videos as well, this further thickens your web of links, basically forcing people to see your campaign!
Following these steps will greatly strengthen you chances of driving more traffic to your site. You will see the benefits of video marketing in no time, and quickly, you will be earning more money.
